Privacy Policy

Last updated 12 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data TaskSleek ("we", "us") processes when you use our website and service, why we process it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible

TaskSleek is the data controller for host accounts and website visitors. For the data hosts enter about their cleaners and properties, the host is the controller and TaskSleek acts as processor on the host's behalf. Questions can be sent through our contact page.

2. Data we process

  • Host account: email address, password (stored hashed), timezone and notification settings.
  • Properties: name, address, access instructions, calendar (iCal) link and checklists.
  • Bookings: check-out and check-in dates read from your calendar link. We do not store guest names.
  • Cleaners: name, phone number, email and preferred language, entered by the host.
  • Cleaning jobs: checklist progress, notes and photos uploaded by cleaners, and timestamps.
  • Billing: subscription status and plan. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
  • Tenant folders and homes: tenant and landlord names and emails, lease dates, rent amounts, move-in/out photos, meter readings, invoices, repair requests and chat messages.
  • Contact messages: name, email and the message you send us.
  • Technical data: basic logs (IP address, browser, time) needed to run and secure the service.

3. Why we process it (legal basis)

  • To provide the service you signed up for — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • To send the emails you enable, such as reminders and job-done notices — contract.
  • To bill subscriptions and meet accounting rules — contract and legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
  • To keep the service secure and answer your messages — legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).

We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Cleaners

Cleaners do not create accounts. They receive a private link to each job. Anyone with the link can open that single job, so hosts should only share it with the cleaner. Photos are stored privately and are shown to the host and, through temporary links, to the cleaner.

5. WhatsApp

"Send via WhatsApp" opens WhatsApp on the host's own device with a pre-filled message. The message is sent by the host through WhatsApp, not by TaskSleek, and is covered by WhatsApp's own privacy policy.

6. Service providers

Where providers process data outside the EU/EEA, transfers are protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

7. How long we keep data

Account data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account in Settings, your properties, team, tasks, tenant folders, messages, photos and files are deleted immediately and any subscription is cancelled; backups are overwritten within 30 days. Billing records are kept as long as accounting law requires (typically 5 years). Contact messages are kept for up to 2 years.

8. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time. You can download a copy of your data and delete your account yourself under Settings → Your data & privacy. For anything else, send your request through the contact page. You may also complain to your local data protection authority (in Denmark: Datatilsynet; in Spain: AEPD).

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, every host can only access their own data, and job photos are stored in private storage.

10. Changes

We will update this page if our practices change and notify account holders of significant changes by email.
